I love learning games because you prepare them once and use them over and over again. Some of my favorite learning games are ABC Bingo and CVC Bingo. Kids feel like they’re playing and having fun, but they’re really getting a spiral review.
Teacher uses the calling cards, while children look at their bingo card to see if they have the word. Play like Tic-Tac-Toe, 3 in a row is a winner, or play until someone has a full card. Bingo games are a fun way for students to get repeated practice.
Alphabet Bingo
A fun way that I teach letter sounds is by playing Alphabet Bingo! I make it a point to call out the letter sound, for example /m/, instead of the letter name. This is a great activity to introduce at the teacher table and use in literacy centers once a student is able to act as the “teacher” or “bingo card caller”. The Alphabet Bingo calling cards can also be used as flash cards.
Includes 30 ABC Bingo cards for up to 30 players, so the whole class can play, and 26 calling cards. Every letter has a key picture to help children remember beginning sounds and letter names.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My students LOVE this game/activity. They are always asking if we can play during or at the end of our small groups. They really enjoy it! Thank you! – Lauren R.
CVC Bingo
My favorite method for practicing CVC words is to play CVC BINGO! The teacher calls out the word and students need to read the words on their card. Kids win by making a straight line like in Tic-Tac-Toe.
Differentiation: As students develop cvc reading they can play until someone fills their card or with multiple CVC Bingo cards.
Includes 30 CVC Bingo cards for up to 30 players and 60 calling cards with a picture and word: 12 words for each short vowel, a, e, i, o and u. Use it in literacy centers, small groups or with the whole class.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love this resource! Very engaging & versatile to be used. I have done this small group, whole group, as part of morning meeting, and as a classroom game. My kids loved it and I will be using it forever. – Catherine Kastick
Students Can Be the Caller!
Start at the teacher table so everyone learns how to play. After a few practice rounds, students can take turns being the caller: the caller reads the calling cards out loud while everyone else looks for the word on their card. Now your bingo game is an independent literacy center that a small group can play on their own while you teach at your table. Kids love being the “teacher”, and the caller gets extra reading practice too!
TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My students love playing this! For some, this was the first time they’d ever played bingo. After a couple of practice rounds, the kids now take turns being the caller and they can play as a self-directed group. So glad you made this! – Tara Hess
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great resource for our Skill Block literacy tubs. Students love being the caller and being independent in this center. – joyce Martinez
