Having students create their own class made books has been one of my favorite activities for a long time. I believe that if students know that they are going to publish their writing for their classmates to read, they are more motivated to improve their writing. I have created a FREEBIE on Class Made books that includes ideas and instructions for easy binding. I have also created Square Class Made Books   that include pages for students writing and more ideas for binding. I created Square Book and a Half  which comes with a title, cover, writing, and drawing pages. It includes many different themes that can be used throughout the school year. They are also available in a class books bundle.
