Class Set Up Ideas for Busy Teachers

Setting up a classroom with a fun and happy theme doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg. Learn how to DECORATE your classroom on a budget.

COLOR SCHEME

One of the most important parts of planning your classroom theme is deciding on a color scheme. I used to gravitate toward the basic primary colors, but lately I’m into black and white stripes with pops of AstroBrights colors.

BINS and ACCESORIES

Once you’ve selected your colors, you’re ready to gather bins, storage containers, and accessories in your colors. I suggest going to the Dollar Tree bin aisle. They have a huge selection of bins. If you can’t find the colors you want you can always opt for black and white. This will give you a clean look and you can add in color with labels.

BULLETIN BOARD DISPLAYS

These displays are important because they take up so much space in a classroom and can quickly add visual interest. The best advice I can give you on covering bulletin boards is to use black fabric that has a bit of stretch to it. It won’t fade with the sun like butcher paper and you can pat it if it gets dusty. You can easily fold fabric to store it.
